In May 2022, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union declined by 17.7% to 136,410 units. This drop was mainly the result of a fall in new van sales.

From January to May, EU registrations of light commercial vehicles totalled 538,444 units, down by 23.2% compared to the year before. Among the four largest markets in the region, Italy had the smallest decline (-8.9%), whilst Spain (-36.1%), France (-24.9%) and Germany (-19.8%) witnessed double-digit losses.

A new chapter in the Cléon plant’s story has begun: it has started up six lines to produce the ePT-160kW electric motor powering the All-new Megane E-TECH Electric. And this is just the first step for this industrial site that will soon be at the centre of electric motor production in France. Energy prices gained 6,4%  in June, led by crude oil 6,1% and European natural gas 15,1%. Non-energy prices fell 4%. Agricultural prices dropped 3,7%. Food prices declined 4,7% led by grains -6,6% and oils and meals -5,7%. Beverages gained 1,7% while raw materials fell 2,3%.

Many cities and towns limit speeds around schools, hospitals and shopping areas. Seeing the signs, however, can depend on how visible they are, whether they are concealed by branches, or maybe surrounded by a cluster of other signs. Now, Ford is trialling connected vehicle technology using geofencing – a virtual geographical boundary – that could one day do away with the need for speed limit signs completely. As well as potentially making streets safer for other road users and pedestrians, Ford’s Geofencing Speed Limit Control system could help drivers avoid inadvertently incurring speeding fines and improve roadside appearances.
